Main Types Of Inverters
Mar 06, 2023| Regarding the knowledge of inverters, according to different design requirements, there are different types of inverters. For example, they are divided into bridge type and zero type according to circuit structure. According to the power electronic devices used in inverters, there are inverters composed of semi controlled devices. Here, the basic types of inverters and the main types of inverters are introduced. Let's take a look together.
The types of inverters are divided into bridge type and zero type based on circuit structure, or into single-phase and multiphase inverters based on the number of phases in the power grid. In addition, there are several other classification methods.
1. According to the classification of power electronic devices used in inverters, there are inverters composed of semi controlled devices, such as thyristor inverters, and fully controlled devices, including GTR inverters, GTO inverters, and IGBT inverters. Not only can their volume and weight be reduced, but due to the absence of commutation circuits, losses can be reduced and the switching frequency of the inverter can be increased.
2. According to the modulation method of inverters, there are types such as sine pulse width modulation inverters and square wave or stepped wave inverters.
In AC-DC-AC inverters or DC-AC inverters, in order to provide constant voltage or current and exchange reactive power with the load, energy storage elements are installed in the DC link of the inverter. According to the nature of the energy storage elements, they can be divided into two categories: voltage type inverters and current type inverters.
