Use Of Onboard Inverters

Because inverters are an electronic product, the design engineers have conceptualized all possible issues before design, in order to achieve a more user-friendly product in the circuit. Therefore, generally inverters have protection circuits for overvoltage, low-voltage, and power. But for inverters larger than 300W, not only the above protection is included, but also additional circuits such as temperature, low voltage alarm, and fan power control are added. Therefore, we will encounter various operational errors during use.

1. When unloaded, the inverter indicator light is normal and the output voltage is also normal. But as soon as the load is inserted, you will hear a cry and the red light will be on. The load is not working. The main reason for this problem is that the battery you are using is not sufficient, so once the load is connected, the battery voltage will drop below the voltage of the low-voltage protection circuit due to the load power being greater than the battery output power. The low-voltage alarm and low-voltage protection circuit of the inverter are both working. This phenomenon generally manifests as: the sound is instantaneous (some machines have self locking protection circuits to ensure that the battery, inverter, and load are not damaged), and the red light is on. Some inverters beep one on and one off, continuously beeping until you pull the load apart. The red light is turned on and off (this power protection circuit is self restoring, and due to the load, the inverter battery is in abnormal conditions, which can easily damage the battery.

2. The inverter indicates normal operation and the output voltage is also normal. But as soon as the load is plugged in, it will hear constant calls and the load will work normally. This situation is also caused by improper use.

(1) The battery you are using has insufficient power, causing a low voltage alarm, but the voltage has not yet reached the low voltage protection voltage. So you will hear a long cry, but the inverter can work normally. There are two ways to deal with this problem: increase the battery or reduce your load.

(2) The inverter indication is normal and the output voltage is also normal. But as soon as you plug in the load, you may hear continuous calls, which may be caused by the input line you are using being too small. This situation generally occurs when there are many modifications to the inverter. The solution is to increase the input line. If it is 300W to 500W, it uses 6 square wires, while 1000W requires 10 square wires or more. The size of the additional wires also depends on the length of your input wire. For example, if 1000W uses 10 square wires, it cannot be longer than 50CM. If you want to extend the wires, you need to use wires of 16 square wires or more. The longest main energy is 1 meter.

3. Connect the inverter and a red light appears, but there is no output. This situation is mainly because your battery may be overcharged and the voltage may be too high. If there is a sound, the problem is that the battery voltage is too low.

4. Connect the inverter fan and it will not rotate. In general, the fan of the inverter is controlled by the output power, which means that the fan speed is driven by the load you are using. The advantage of doing so is that it can reduce static current and reduce noise. So fans are generally controlled to rotate above 100W, and it is normal for fans below 100W to remain stationary.

5. As soon as the load is connected, the inverter shuts down. When it is restarted, the inverter is normal again, but when the load is connected, it also shuts down. This situation is mainly due to the following reasons:

(1) Inverter power protection due to excessive load power. For example, if an inverter with a nominal power of 300W is connected to a load of 350W, it will cause a shutdown.

(2) The peak value of the inverter is not enough. Generally speaking, the peak value of the inverter is usually set at twice the nominal power. For example, a 100W inverter can reach a peak of 200W. But sometimes, your peak load is more than three times, even if your power is 90W, a 100W inverter cannot drive it, because a three times peak is 270W, which is greater than 200W. Therefore, when buying an inverter, it is important to pay attention to the peak value of the equipment.

(3) The inverter power is insufficient.
